First time visiting. By far the coolest hostesses I’ve met in Houston thus far. They’re older and very surprised that I spoke Yoruba. As soon as I started teasing them about it taking forever for my catfish to come out they teased me right back and we all laughter together. One of the hostess did Naija style and sold me different necklaces and earrings. I wasn’t offended, I thought it was funny and different vibe in a cool way. Ohhh and the fish was absolutely delicious! I also got the Ayamase (designer stew). I highly recommend and I’ll return.

I visited Ejide African Restaurant while traveling from the UK, and it was truly one of the highlights of my time in Texas. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, with staff who made me feel right at home. The menu offered a fantastic range of authentic African flavors, and every dish I tried was fresh, beautifully presented, and full of taste. What impressed me most was the attention to detail—the service was attentive without being intrusive, and the team took time to explain dishes and make recommendations. As someone visiting from abroad, I really appreciated that extra touch of hospitality. The restaurant itself has a vibrant yet relaxed vibe, perfect for both casual dining and special occasions. I would highly recommend Ejide to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience in Texas. It’s a place that blends great food with genuine hospitality, and I’ll definitely be returning on my next visit.

The truth. Real authentic Nigerian food. If you’re looking for flavor, vibes, and hospitality this is the place. I recommend the catfish pepper soup, efo riro, and designer stew. Honorable mention is their suya. I have a lot of pictures of this place because I’ve been here so many times. That’s how good it is.
